PPF banka

PPF banka a.s. is an integral part of PPF Group, the financial and investment group. The bank focuses on providing financial, investment and consultancy services to selected clients, as well as private banking services. PPF banka’s clients include financial institutions, Czech medium and large enterprises and municipal organisations. PPF banka acts as PPF Group’s central treasury bank, conducting international payment operations for companies within PPF Group as well as underwriting and other investment services such as brokering finance in the capital markets. The bank specialises in trading securities in the majority of markets in Europe, the United States, Russia and a number of Asian countries, primarily for professional investors. Over the years PPF banka has established a reputation among its clients as a reliable partner in the world of finance. Together with its strategic role in PPF Group, that reputation has allowed the bank to achieve above-average financial results. PPF banka’s majority shareholder is PPF Group N.V. with a 92.96% stake, while the City of Prague has a minority 6.73% stake.

History

PPF banka was founded in 1992 as Royal Banka CS, a.s. In 1995 the City of Prague became the bank’s majority shareholder, and it was renamed První městská banka, a.s. In 2002 there was a change to the bank’s majority shareholder when Česká pojišťovna a.s., a member of PPF Group, became a strategic investor in the bank. Since 2003 the bank has been fully integrated into PPF Group, and in 2004 it adopted a new name, PPF banka a.s.
